What is Section 179?

Section 179 is a tax deduction available to business that allows you to recoup some of the money spent specifically on technology. In December of last year, Congress passed and signed the PATH Act, which increased the Section 179 cap to $500,000 for 2016.

By giving businesses the ability to write off the full amount spent on qualifying items, Section 179 can help you to make upgrades to both your technology, and your workspace. But there is a small catch; only items purchased and installed by December 31st, 2016 will qualify.
