Scott Putnam began working at Apex as a technician, while still a student at Shasta High School. By the time he was 25, he was President of the company, which has grown to a staff of 30 under his leadership. Scott has over 20 years experience in business consultation and in the design, implementation and administration of advanced technologies for a wide range of clients, from small business to large corporations. He recently received the 2010 Virgil Covington Award from the Redding Chamber of Commerce, and has also received awards from the SMART Resource Center and Redding Rotary. As President/CEO of Apex, he has twice accepted recognition as one of the top 100 most innovative IT providers in the world, and has maintained Microsoft Gold Partner status for over five years, in addition to advanced partnerships with companies such as CISCO, CITRIX, HP and Dell. Scott's technical certifications include Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA), MCNPS and MSPSI. He serves on the Thanksgiving Basket Committee for Redding Rotary, and as an AWANA leader for Redding Neighborhood Church. He also serves his community through generous contributions to charitable organizations. He and his wife, Natalie and their children, Joel, Hannah, Leah, Micah, Naomi and Levi, live in Redding.
Vice President of Technical Services
Ray Bass is a Level Three Senior Network Engineer, a Senior Telecommunications Engineer and a Low Voltage Electrician. He also holds numerous certifications in technology, including being a Microsoft Certified Professional and Windows 2003 Server Administrator, as well as holding a C-7 Contractors license and certifications with Mitel. He brings 16 years of industry experience to Apex, having worked in the past as the owner of his own computer company and an electrician for such renowned companies as Pepsi Cola, Campbell's Soup and 7-UP Bottling. When he's not handling the technical services for our company, Ray enjoys watching his kids' games, computers, archery, go-cart racing and Texas Hold-'em style poker.
Tom Grisell is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, and a multi-faceted IT professional with extensive experience managing, implementing and supporting enterprise-wide business solutions. He specializes in architecting and optimizing network infrastructures, data management systems and virtual server environments. At Apex, Tom performs technology budgeting, strategic planning, and the overall management of IT infrastructure for our customers. He is the expert our company and our clients count on to recommend and deploy cost-cutting and performance-enhancing IT solutions, helping growing businesses like yours achieve their goals. When he's not helping our clients take their businesses to the next level, Tom's hobbies include spending time with his family, traveling, skiing, boating, wakeboarding, camping, biking, reading and hiking.
George Passidakis holds an M.I.S. degree and brings 14 years of experience as an Information Technology professional to Apex. He is dedicated to bringing complicated technology down to earth for everyday use, ensuing our clients get the personal and professional service they deserve. George is a CEDIA Certified Professional Designer as well as a C-7 Licensed Contractor, who has founded his own custom database applications company, worked as an IT consultant and held a position as an IT manager for Cisco. He has extensive knowledge of and experience with Microsoft products and other traditional IT including Web development and wireless technologies. When he's not providing expert IT solutions to our clients, George enjoys exploring the great outdoors, his kids, camping, audio/video and home automation.
Kevin comes to us with 20 years of experience in the IT industry. He has previously served as a VP of Operations, Chief Operating Officer, and owned his own consulting firm. At Apex he is serving Total Support clients as their Virtual Chief Information Officer.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from UC Davis. After hours, Kevin enjoys hiking, camping in the mountains, and yoga. He and his wife, Melissa, are the parents of three children.
Since 2008, Apex has counted on Jamie Johnson for a wide range of duties, including reception, purchasing, shipping and receiving. She now serves as the Executive Assistant to our President & CEO, ensuring our business is always running smoothly. She is dedicated to excellence in customer service and is the professional our team relies on for high-level administrative support. In her time away from the office, Jamie's hobbies include sewing, reading, visiting with family and friends and indulging her reality TV addiction.
As our Sales Assistant, Eric Sandhofner specializes in product quoting and research, sales purchasing and inventory accountability for Apex. Eric has education in Windows Vista, Server 2008, Cisco technologies, and brings seven years of experience to our company. He previously served in the US Army as an Advanced Warning System Operator, working with radar in an Air Missile Defense Work Station. Eric is a vital member of the staff at Apex, always working to ensure our clients get the state-of-the-art IT solutions they need to get ahead of the competition.
As the Marketing Coordinator at Apex, Dotti Putnam is responsible for developing and maintaining marketing assistance for our sales department. She provides design and production of our educational, advertising, marketing, and customer service programs, and plans the execution of the company's various events and expositions. Dotti has earned a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science. In addition to skills in graphic design, consumer research, and public relations, Dotti has the ability to explain new technologies and systems to clients in language they can easily understand. She also serves as the administrator for Apex's Pearson Vue and Prometric technical testing center. In her time away from the office, Dotti enjoys spending time with her family, documenting life's blessings and beauty with photography, and watching football.
Director of Technical Services
David Bliss specializes in the management of operations for the field engineer, network operation center and dispatch staffs of Apex. He works to coach and motivate our technical staff in order to deliver high quality technical solutions and service offerings to our loyal clients. As a Microsoft Certified Professional, Systems Engineer and Systems Administrator, David's role in the company ensures clear communication between our customers, internal departments and technicians. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with options in MIS and Production & Operations Management, and now brings over ten years of IT industry experience to the team at Apex.
Senior Network Engineer
Patrick Gerard holds certifications as an MCITP - Enterprise Admin, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, CCNA, CCA and CQS-CWLSS, making him an invaluable technical expert for Apex. A former network administrator and technician, he brings over twelve years of technology industry experience to our team and specializes in Microsoft Windows Server, virtualization technologies, and Cisco Wireless. In his time away from the office, Patrick's interests include first and foremost his family. He is married and has four wonderful children. Patrick also is in the process of rebuilding a 1968 Mustang and races autocross whenever he gets the chance. In additions, he enjoys boating and wakeboarding on Shasta and Whiskeytown Lakes.
Senior Network Engineer
Stephen Carnes has over 15 years of experience in Information Technology Management with an extensive background in design architecture and implementation of physical and virtualized infrastructures; specializing in strategic consulting, project management, with emphasis on system migration and design. Stephen has been nationally awarded for the architect and design of "game changing" infrastructures that dramatically improve workflow and patient care in healthcare facilities. Stephen holds the industry's leading technical certifications from VMWare, Citrix, Microsoft, Appsense and Cisco. During off hours his passions include aerial firefighting, baseball, yard work and spending time at home with his wife Tina, and their children Ephram and Keira.
Sherry McELroy has been with Apex for 5 years. She brings with her 11 years of programming experience and over 13 years experience working in Server and Network administration. Sherry attended St. Leo University while she was enlisted in the US Army. Sherry currently holds Microsoft Certified IT Professional Enterprise certifications for Enterprise Server 2008 administration, Enterprise Desktop support, and Enterprise Messaging Exchange 2010.
She also currently is a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) for Microsoft Cloud computing and is a Certified Trainer. Sherry works with our managed service clients to troubleshoot and resolve issues with their networks, as well as implement solutions for their environments. Sherry works with the project team to implement and deploy server and network solutions to clients. When away from work, Sherry enjoys her family, bike riding and reading.
Arthur MacArthur IV
Field Network Technician
Arthur MacArthur IV received his technical training from Stanbridge College, holds certification in A+ and is a Microsoft Certified IT Professional with over 8 years of IT industry experience. As a Network Technician for Apex, Arthur works to troubleshoot and maintain client networks, train clients on how to use hardware and software and provide on-site maintenance. His previous work experience includes positions as a sales and service technician, product specialist and product manager, making him the technical expert you can depend on for recommending and implementing IT solutions that can help you achieve your goals. In his time away from the office, Arthur enjoys playing video games and working out at the gym.
Network Operations Center Technician
Kyle Sandhofner is a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in Active Directory 2008, working daily to review and troubleshoot our Digital Umbrella backups. Provides reliable customer service, offers remote troubleshooting, computer repair, and virus & malware removal for the clients at Apex. Kyle brings five years of technical experience to the team at Apex, with former positions held as a help desk specialist, email administrator and IIS admin. When he's not helping our clients benefit from the latest and greatest and advanced IT, Kyle enjoys attending church, spending time with family, and configuring and repairing electronics.
Network Operations Center Technician
Sampson Abramenko specializes in VMWare management, SQLServer Database Management, Network Troubleshooting and Web Design for Apex. After serving in the US Navy as an Electronics Tech and receiving education in computers and networking from Shasta College, Sampson now brings ten years of IT industry experience to our company. He has worked previously as a systems administrator and holds an Electronics Certificate from the US Navy, making him the technology expert our clients can count on for professional service and support. In his time away from the office, Sampson enjoys his kids, Web design, programming, baseball and traveling.
April has spent 8 years in client service management, specializing in troubleshooting, enhanced process flow and business efficiency in a team environment. For five of those years, the focus was on technology based integration solutions and Executive Account Management. In the process of earning her BA in Business and Psychology, April has a passion for music and plays the guitar and piano. She also enjoys arts and crafts, party planning and big dog socialization and agility training. Another of her interests is rehabilitation with animals and youth, and April has an 8 year old Black Lab and a 4 month old Great Dane.
Nathan comes to Apex from Tennessee, with 12 years of IT experience as a system administrator and network engineer. He is skilled in the design, setup and management of workstations, servers, and networks. He earned a Certificate in AutoCAD from Nashville Tech, and is currently working on completing his Microsoft MCITP-Enterprise certification. Nathan enjoys spending time with his family and likes football and basketball.
Keri is finding Apex to be a great place to utilize her 14 years of successful customer service experience. A graduate of Anderson High School, Keri attended Shasta College and Orange Coast College. Her leisure time interests include gardening, cooking, horseback riding, camping, traveling, and working out, but Keri's favorite pastime is being in the water. Whether it's swimming, diving, or snorkeling, she's a fish out of water!
Network Operations Center Technician
Kurt came to Apex with 2 years of experience as an online support technician. He is particularly adept at virus removal. At Apex he works with server and domain environments, maintaining and monitoring servers and network stability for our clients. Off duty, Kurt enjoys motorcycles, archery, playing the piano and video games.
Ericka graduated with Highest Honors in Computer Science from ITT Technical Institute, and came to Apex with 7 years of experience in computer troubleshooting, customer service, and account management. She loves spending time outdoors with her husband, her 13 year old daughter and 9 year old twin sons. Frequent trips to the library are also high on her list of favorite things to do.
Healthcare Project Manager
Educated at Shasta Rosa College, Shannon is currently using her 11 years of healthcare experience to manage projects for our healthcare clients, and facilitate their adoption of EHR systems. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, Emma, hiking, and spending time with family and friends in the Bay area. She’s a Giants’ baseball fan and also likes to watch football.
Business Development Manager
Josh earned his BA in Organizational Leadership at Simpson University. Previous to joining the Apex Sales and Marketing Team, Josh had been in electronics sales and business development. He also served in the U.S. Army Military Police and as a Satellite Systems Operator. His interests include reading, writing, hiking, photography and his family.
As the Corporate Controller, Tracy leads and directs the Apex Finance Team, ensuring that our financial business practices follow GAAP principles of fiscal integrity, promote accountability, and maintain client trust. She brings a wide range of experience to the Apex Team, including more than 20 years of accounting and auditing experience in the hospitality field, as well as a few years of systems installations way back when! During her long tenure with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Tracy was responsible for operating the financial division at individual properties. She directed the Accounting, Purchasing, and IT departments, including opening eight luxury hotels (four international properties) where she implemented accounting and business IT systems, as well as performed onsite system and process training. This experience, combined with her specialization in system conversions and internal audit has given her a unique ability to analyze a wide range of business systems and operations as they relate to accounting and financial controls. On an interesting note: Tracy also spent more than 4 years as an Elementary School teacher! Tracy holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Cornell University in Consumer Economics with a concentration in Business Management.
Away from Apex, Tracy enjoys spending time with family, serving people in our community and internationally, biking, kayaking, creative arts, theater, and dance.
NOC HelpDesk Technician
Brent earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Network Management and has more than 5 years of experience providing technology support. He is also COMTRAIN Safety/Rescue Certified.
Like many of our technicians, Brent enjoys working on his own gaming desktop at home. He and his wife Melissa enjoy playing video games together, and will soon welcome their 4th child.
Janine’s role at Apex encompasses Project Management, Systems Analysis, Process Improvement, and, of course, Customer Service. She is always looking for opportunities to serve our clients more efficiently, developing lasting relationships. She holds a B.A. degree in Legal Studies, and has more than 20 years of experience managing people and processes.
Janine and her husband love technology at home, as well, believing that personal computing provides an easier life and entertainment for them and their 2 sons. Two Labradoodles round out their family.
Currently a student at Shasta College, Abby is responsible for maintaining Apex’s accounts payable and client project equipment invoicing. In the afternoon, she also serves as the “Face of Apex” at the reception desk, utilizing her friendly and upbeat personality. Her experience working with her family’s restoration business adds to her solid background in exceptional customer service and accounting basics.
Abby enjoys playing piano, volunteering at her church’s youth group, being outside, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
Finance/Accounts Receivable Clerk
Tiffany has spent several years working in the Hospitality and Accounting Industries. She has studied at Shasta College, majoring in Psychology and Spanish. At Apex she serves at our Reception Desk, and handles our Accounts Receivable. Outside the office, Tiffany enjoys spending time with her son and watching Giants baseball. Her other hobbies include reading, swimming and snowboarding.
